[ONE] Restaurant has been on our list of places to try for quite some time. We figured it was the perfect venue to celebrate our [ONE] year wedding anniversary. Much like a marriage, going to [ONE] works best when you have trust. I love going to a restaurant and allowing the chefs to do what they do best-combining flavors, preferences and ingredients.

As we were celebrating, Alex and I decided to try the chef’s tasting menu, which consisted of 8 courses. As sharing is also an important component of a marriage, we did so and were able to sample 16 unique dishes. Not only was the plating a piece of art, but the serveware complemented every dish. It was very clear that thought was put into each aspect of the meal.

From the moment we got to the bar to the dessert and after-dinner drinks, I was not disappointed. There were combinations that I would never have placed together, such as kumquat and lavender in my cocktail and caraway ice cream as part of a dessert. Our last bite of the evening was the worst bite because it was our last.

If you have yet to try [ONE], which was recently named the 79th best restaurant in the U.S., add it to your list. It’s one of those establishments that is worth the travel and we’re just lucky enough to have it right in town.
