Election 2016: What is the Impact on North Carolina – Thursday, 7pm – Hosted at Chapel Hill Public Library, the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties invites you to join in a public forum with Rick Glazier, Executive Director of the North Carolina Justice Center.

Parachute: The Wide Awake Tour – Thursday, 7:30pm – With special guest Jon McLaughlin, this refreshingly impassioned pop rock band is a don’t-miss performance at Cat’s Cradle.

Sticky Fingers: Bootleg Rascal – Friday, 8pm – Come check out their melting pot of sounds at Cat’s Cradle.

School Fair – Saturday, 10am-2pm – Rain or shine, Carrboro Elementary will be bouncing with activity this Saturday. Enjoy a silent auction, games, bounce houses, raffles, dunk tank and more!

Art in the Garden Annual Sculpture Invitational – Saturday, 10am-6pm; Sunday, noon-5pm – Located in the Hillsborough gardens of Tinka Jordy and Mark Donley, this juried scupture show and sale will premier exciting new original work by nationally recognized and local artists.

Scientist Turned Comedian: Tim Lee – Saturday, 8pm – Tim Lee Ph.D. spent years developing simulation and analytical models of population dynamics… then he tried comedy for the first time and switched gears completely. After becoming a Youtube star, Tim took his science-talk/comedy mashup to the road and will soon perform at The ArtsCenter.

The Mallett Brothers Band Campfires and Constellations – Saturday, 8pm – Playing at Local 506, this alternative country-rock band hybrid will keep you on your toes and rockin’ out.

Mother’s Day Brunch – Sunday – Between graduation day and Mother’s Day, there’s a lot to celebrate this Sunday. Several spots around town offer a special brunch including The Carolina Inn, City Kitchen, Kipos and The Weathervane.

Bent Shapes: Body Games, Band & The Beat – Sunday, 8pm – Self-proclaimed “hyphy nrrrd pop for kids on the skids,” this band playing at Cat’s Cradle on Sunday, promises to be a retro good time.
