The Best. Need we say more?

Whether we’re talking florists, realty teams or burgers, we all have our favorites. In our July/August issue, we reveal the 70+ winners of our first-ever Best of Chapel Hill Awards. You might say it’s the People’s Issue, since you, our readers, cast your votes. Get to know the winners through our coverage, which includes testimonials from customers and little-known facts and histories.

Elsewhere in the issue, look for our Annual Retirement Section. We go behind the scenes of the Seymour Center and interview its namesake, the Rev. Bob Seymour. Writer Lynsy Smithson-Stanley gathered a group of four retirees recently – some who live in retirement communities and others who live independently – to talk about the highs, lows and surprises of retiring in Chapel Hill. (For more from our interview, go here.)

Editorial Director Dan Shannon interviews builder Scott Kovens about the challenging economy.

Our Great Home takes you inside the creative space of Alex and Courtney Toledo, who have decorated their 1939 Gimghoul home using furniture and accessories from Craigslist and eBay. (See web exclusive photos here.)

Adam Lucas offers coverage from Omaha, where the Tar Heels made Chapel Hill proud at the College World Series. Speaking of sports: Anna Katherine Clemmons gives her first-person take on how a childhood in Chapel Hill helped her secure a writing spot with ESPN.

And Much More!

A section that I would love to see in your issues is volunteer opportunities in town each week, whether it's walks for a cause, stuffing kids backpacks,
or whatever is going on in town that people can help with. I think that would be a great addition to the good content you already have going on. Thanks for your consideration of this. I don't think there is any other publication that does that.
