Photo by John RipleyI heard an interview with Elizabeth Edwards on The Diane Rehm Show on WUNC today. At the very end of the show, Rehm asked Edwards what was next for her. She replied that she’s opening a furniture store in Chapel Hill.
Dwight Bassett, economic development officer for Chapel Hill, says that Edwards has leased a space at Rosemary Village at 400 West Rosemary Street.
Does anyone know more, like when it’s supposed to open? This is certainly exciting news for the town!

Q:Is it true you are going into the furniture business?
A: Yes, in Chapel Hill. It is called The Red Window and will open at the end of October. My mother had a charity store called The Red Door when we lived in Japan.

Laurie Paolicelli, executive director of the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau, confirms that Edwards' store will be called The Red Window and tells me it is expected to open in October. While on a book tour promoting Resilience, Edwards said that she purchased a large selection of furniture in High Point.
