« Swim for Smiles' 3rd Annual Youth Triathlon »
This weekend I managed to attend the Swim for Smiles 3rd Annual Youth Triathlon, and I can sum up my impression with one word - "wow!" It was packed with 6-18 year old participants and their families and friends. The event was headquartered at the swimming pool at Chapel Hill Country Club with bikers and runners making their way through the surrounding neighborhood. I managed to snap a few photos at the event:
Elisabeth Charney of Chapel Hill cheers on her sister Julia and Julia's friends, Rachel and Juliana.
Mark & Debbie McCormick of Prudential Carolinas with their children, Haley and Kyle, after Kyle completed the triathlon.
Alison Smith, an excellent runner from the East Chapel Hill High School track team, was one of the fastest participants.Everyone I met sung the praises of how fun the event was, how great the cause is, and how well organized it was. In three short years, the Swim for Smiles Foundation has become an important fundraiser for the North Carolina Children's Hospital. So if your kids didn't make the event this year, definitely get them out next year. A big shout out to the many volunteers that ran this complex event.....well done!
