They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but how do words convey the uncaptured photo?
A new book from Hillsborough-based and internationally celebrated photography publisher, Daylight magazine, considers this question with the release of the book, “Photographs Not Taken.” The book, conceived and edited by renowned photographer Will Steacy, is a collection of essays from photographers during a moment when they could not or would not clinch a moment on film.
At Flyleaf Books on Monday, March 19, co-founders of Daylight magazine Taj Forer, a UNC graduate, and Michael Itkoff will host a book signing and discuss a constantly recurring question for any photographer: “To be or to shoot.” Click here to read an excerpt from the book written by Tim Hetherington.
The book will be officially released on March 31, but it will be available for purchase during the event at Flyleaf. For more information about the event click here and to learn more about Daylight magazine, visit the website here.
