Cackalacky Sauce

The name Cackalacky might not seem like a natural fit in gourmet terminology, but Chapel Hill resident Page Skelton, creator of the Original Cackalacky Spice Sauce, has once again proven himself in the world of fine dining.

Skelton’s sauce is featured in Bon Appétit’s “Savor the South” February issue and is highlighted as a favorite by the editors. The magazine notes that Skelton and his Cackalacky products are part of an emerging group of, “fresh crop artisans [who are] giving the Southern pantry a whole new shelf life." The Chapel Hill-based company describes their sweet potato-based sauce as a dressing, dip, topping and marinade. As fiery as it is fun to say, this zesty concoction from a small cottage kitchen in Chapel Hill is now available in 22 states.
