Where Great Ideas Hatch

Entredot, the nonprofit small business incubator with locations in Cary and North Raleigh, celebrated its official launch last week at 1 Bolin Heights Dr. in Chapel Hill.

Co-founded by Bill Warner and Brad Leinhart, EntreDot works with small business owners to help them launch their ideas, formulate market strategies and build clientele.

“They come to us at all sorts of different levels of maturity,” Warner says, adding that the company has worked with more than 50 businesses in Cary and Raleigh.

EntreDot offers mentorship from established business owners as well as educational services. The company also rents office space to new and up-and-coming businesses. “We have over 200 volunteers – seasoned business professionals who are willing to help small business owners deal with the planning of, creation, launch and running of their business,” Warner says.

“The whole idea is to help businesses not fail.”

EntreDot will be opening a fourth location in Pittsboro in the near future.

Inn With The New

Lenore Donaldson is the new director of sales at The Carolina Inn. She comes here after serving as national sales manager at the Washington Duke Inn since 2003. Donaldson is replacing Jack Schmidt, who was promoted to general manager of the inn.

She has served as director of sales at various companies around the Triangle, including Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel and the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The Carolina Inn is Chapel Hill’s premier location for meetings, events and weddings, Donaldson says. The inn will complete their multi-year renovation project in April, bringing updated public spaces, guestrooms and back-of-the-house functionality.

Little-Known Coffee Chain Comes to Meadowmont

A new Starbucks is expected to open in April next to Harris Teeter in Meadowmont Village.

The coffee shop will replace Bean Traders, which has moved to 503 Meadowmont Village Circle and changed its name to Market Street Coffee and Ice Cream.

Glenn Brooks, customer services manager of Harris Teeter, says since the grocery store already has a partnership with Starbucks, adding that the new location was expected.  TW
