Yesterday evening, just before the Town Council meeting, our staff presented Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt with a framed copy of a photo Mackenzie Brough took back in September that featured every living former (and current) mayor of Chapel Hill.
The shoot was held on the lawn of The Carolina Inn and shows the former mayors toasting the current mayor. Kleinschmidt says he will hang the portrait inside of Town Hall.
The mayors are: Sandy McClamroch (1961-69), Howard Lee (1969-75), Joe Nassif (1979-85), Jonathan Howes (1987-91), Ken Broun (1991-95), Rosemary Waldorf (1995-01), Kevin Foy (2001-09) and Kleinschmidt (2009-present).
