ANNE P HEADSHOT
You know what I really love? Fridays on the Front Porch at The Carolina Inn. It’s one of my favorite ways to spend a Friday evening, and every time I’m there, I think to myself: “This is why I love North Carolina.”
Every Friday starting in late April and going through early October, The Carolina Inn opens its front lawn to the public at 5 pm for an evening of socializing, live bluegrass music, picnic food and drinks. Their motto: “Bring the kids, welcome your neighbors and leave the workweek behind!”
I went last week with a bunch of friends before heading out to dinner on Franklin Street, and it’s such a nice way to unwind after a busy week. The last Fridays on the Front Porch event this year is Friday, Oct. 7, and you better believe I’ll be there every Friday until they’re done. No cover charge or reservation necessary – just show up ready to have a good time.
