Elementary 11

All that's missing from the plan for Chapel Hill's newest elementary school is an old cornerstone.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools' Elementary #11 -- which is slated to get a catchier name before it opens to students in August 2013 -- will bring a school back to a site where the Orange County Training School (later Lincoln High) and Northside Elementary once stood. When the original buildings were torn down, someone saved a cornerstone. The school district would love to display the cornerstone from the OCTS, built in 1924, in the new school.

The only problem is, nobody can find it. They believe it's somewhere in the community and hope that someone in Chapel Hill can help solve the mystery of the missing cornerstone before the newest school goes up on a site rich in educational history.
