The festival will have a different theme for every week. The first week, Feb. 1-4, is stand-up week and will draw big-name comedians such as Mike Birbiglia and Eddie Brill, who have both worked with David Letterman. For the details of the first week schedule, click here.
Week two, Feb. 8-11, is all about the sketch show and will feature perfomances from one-man show Paul Thomas, who has thrilled N.C. audiences for the past two years, and newcomers to the festival, comedy duo Channel One. See what other acts are scheduled here.
Finally, on week three from Feb. 14-19, it's comedy in its rawest form as improv takes over the festival. Emo Philips, who has performed with Mitch Hedberg and Demetri Martin, will take the stage on Friday, Feb. 17. He will also perfrom with a group of Festival All-Stars, reveal some stories from his career for MISTER DIPLOMAT and join in with The Josh and Tamra Show. The full schedule for week three can be found here.
Comedy classes will run throughout the festival and will be given by some of the comedians who are also performing. Eddie Brill, Paul Thomas, Armando Diaz and Jane Borden are just a few of the teaching comedians.
The festival's locations are spotted throughout Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham and include venues like the Varsity Theater on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, The ArtsCenter Mainstage in Carrboro and the Carolina Theater in Durham.
Student tickets start at $10, and event ticket prices vary. Most events begin at 7 p.m. each evening of the festival. For the entire festival schedule and ticket purchasing, click here.
