Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22, but the celebration won't stop after the weekend. On Tuesday, April 24, Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) and Aveda Institute Chapel Hill will present the signature event of their annual Earth Month campaign: the Earth Jam Fashion Benefit.

Since 2007, the Aveda Institute has raised almost $130,000 to support TLC’s work to safeguard our local drinking water supplies by protecting land along local rivers and streams. The partnership has also helped the community better understand the importance of protecting our area’s water resources to preserve the Triangle as a healthy and vibrant place to live and work.

The fashion benefit, which will take place at the Friday Center from 6:30-10pm, is a New York-style hair, makeup and fashion runway show highlighting the talent of Aveda Institute students under the direction of Hauns Korpela of Scott J Salon in New York. This year’s theme is “Color ReVision,” so you can expect to see the models decked out in bold, vibrant looks. Last year's Earth Jam benefit was inspired by the dramatic and artistic runway shows put on by famed fashion houses such as Chanel and Alexander McQueen.

Tickets are available by calling the Aveda Institute at (919) 960-4769 ext. 1310. General admission tickets are $15 in advance or $20 day of show; reserved seating tickets are $30 in advance or $35 day of show; and VIP seating tickets are $50 in advance or $60 day of show. All proceeds benefit TLC.
