Back by popular demand, certified art teacher Evan Hirasawa joins Kidzu once again during the NC Science Festival to lead young painters through the art of watercolor and origami. Inspired by the book, “Once upon a LilyPad: Froggy Lives in Monet’s Garden” by Joan Sweeney, Kidzu artists will be adding the “A” into STEM and painting Monet-inspired ponds filled with waterlilies and jumping origami frogs in celebration of the Disappearing Frogs Project, a grassroots environmental arts project working to raise awareness of the global decline of frogs and other amphibians. Evan is known throughout the community for helping children explore their world through positive and nurturing arts instruction. Children of all ages, abilities, and special needs welcome. Cost: $10. Advance registration required. Register online!
