Join us for a Civil War encampment at Alamance Battleground in Burlington. In April 1865, during the final campaign of the Civil War, boy soldiers of the North Carolina Junior Reserves camped on the “old Regulator battleground” during their retreat. To commemorate this event, a group of reenactors portraying these young soldiers will hold a special living history program, featuring drill demonsrations, firing demonstrations, and an examination into the experience and motivations of the boys called “the seed corn of the nation.”
