Join us for a fun-tilled frog-tastic morning of art and science in celebration of the Disappearing Frogs Project, a grassroots environmental arts project working to raise awareness of the global decline of frogs and other amphibians. We’ll kick-off the morning on University Place Center Stage for a free reading with NC author Karen Matthews and locally-aclaimed Chapel hill illustrator Josh Taylor, as they read their book, The Legend of Lizard Lick, a whimsical fully illustrated children’s book about how the time community of Lizard Lick, North Carolina, got its funny name. Josh Taylor will join us directly thereafter inside Kidzu for our Mix It Up in the Makery series to help kids illustrate their very own frog stories. Then, wrap-up the morning with the popular jump roping troop, The Bouncing Bulldogs, as they HOP about on the stage and entertain us with their fancy footwork, flips and other acrobatic skills using ropes of various lengths. It’s an event not to be missed! Free with museum admission.
