Charles D. Thompson, Jr. Professor of the Practice of Cultural Anthropology and Documentary Studies at Duke University and author/editor of six books, will present photos and stories from his most recent work, Border Odyssey: Travels Along the U.S.-Mexico Divide, on Thursday, November 19th at the Friends of Chapel Hill Public Library’s Meet the Author Tea.
Border Odyssey is a chronicle of a journey Thompson and his wife made along the entire U.S.-Mexico border. It shifts the conversation away from danger and fear to the shared histories and hopes that bind the two neighboring countries.
