Join us at the Chapel Hill Public Library as we celebrate Teen Read Week with a whole slate of unique events aimed at your tweens and teens. Check out the whole week’s worth of events!

    Twisted Fairy Tale Marathon
Sunday, October 18 in the Teen Room

Join us for wall-to-wall movies based on fairy tales. Some good, some horrible, all made better by watching with company. Sunday in the Teen Room all day long.

    After Dark Scavenger Hunt
Monday, October 19 at 6pm, Teen Room

The sun sets at 6:35 so bring a flashlight, close-toed shoes, and a nose for finding what’s hidden because we’ll be all over the library and Pritchard park. Find the clues hidden outside around the library and solve a puzzle… IF YOU DARE.

    Hollow Book Craft
Tuesday, October 20 at 4pm, Teen Room

We don’t normally condone the destruction of books, but we’re making an exception as we transform regular books into personal storage containers. CHPL will provide all of the necessary materials.

    Write-In
Thursday, October 22 from 4pm to 8pm, Meeting Room A

If you’ve already started on a short story or just have an idea for one, get together with friends an pizza to pound out the prose and poetry in an all evening write-in.

    Author Event: Sarah Dessen
Friday, October 23 at 4:30pm, Meeting Room B (snacks at 4pm)

Sarah Dessen, Chapel Hill’s own Young Adult superstar (and New York Times Bestseller) will read from her dozen published novels, take your questions, and just generally be awesome. Snacks at 4, program at 4:30.

Books will be available for sale and signing from Flyleaf Books

Saturday, October 24 in the Teen Room
