Join Fearrington House Wine Director Maximilian Kast for a look at the wines of New Zealand. Here we will look at the many different wine regions from both the North and the South Islands, and talk about the effects of geology, geography and climate and how that relates the choice of grape varieties in this country. One grape that will not be included is Sauvignon Blanc – not because we do not love New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc but because we would like to showcase the amazing wines made from grapes like Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir in New Zealand. This class will be a lot of fun! $35 per person, including wine, cheese plate, service fee and tax.
