Brendan and Jeremy Smyth of UNEXPOSED Microcinema have put together what they call the UNX Collective, a team of individuals from around Durham to pre-screen films from an open call for submissions and select two hours worth of short movies to premiere at UNXFEST. The UNX Collective met every Saturday for the past two months to watch, choose, and finalize two film programs that feature 12 official selections from national and international filmmakers. After these movies premiere at UNEXPOSED Microcinema on May 7th, they will then be transferred to a DVD and sent to other microcinemas across the world, libraries, and also to professors around the United States to be incorporated in their curriculum of experimental film.
