Working Films, Appalachian Voices, Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League, Clean Water for North Carolina, Haw River Assembly and photojournalists, Michael Premo and Andrew Stern present Water Warriors. Pittsboro, NC May 19th – 22nd at Chatham Mills Performing Arts Center (480 Hillsboro Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312). A free public reception will take place at Chatham Mills on May 19th from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Water Warriors is a photography and film-based art installation that documents one community’s effort, against seemingly insurmountable odds, to protect their land, water and way of life against industry attempts to drill. Water Warriors presents a creative opportunity for residents to learn about about the public health and environmental impacts of fracking and to engage in efforts to develop alternatives that are less harmful to the natural environment and public health. Attendees will have an opportunity to connect with environmental experts and organizations leading the charge to protect the state from drilling.
