WISE (Women in Sports and Events) Greater Raleigh Chapter Launch @ Lonnie Poole Golf Course

WISE Greater Raleigh, the newest chapter of a national organization dedicated to connecting and supporting women in the business of sports, entertainment and events, is officially launching in the Triangle region of North Carolina. We seek to create impactful relationships locally and nationally with other like-minded people. To that end, we would be honored to have you join us at our launch event to hear from powerful female leaders in sports, connect with our Board and other women in the sports industry and consider becoming a member of our Chapter.

The event will feature a welcome message from Kathy Francis, WISE National President, followed by a panel of leading women in sports:

“Field of hope” Baseball Game @ Durham Bulls Athletic Park

The Durham Bulls will host the fourth annual “Field of Hope” baseball game, presented by UNC Health Care and benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The Bulls game against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will raise money to support the prevention and treatment of various women’s cancers.

The REX Mobile Mammography Unit will be parked past the outfield to highlight how this community initiative is bringing mammography services to medically underserved women across the Triangle and central North Carolina. To date, the unit has served more than 57,000 women in the community.

Chapel Hill Sports Club Hosts Guest Speaker Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz @ Squid's Restaurant

Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz, head of the National Football League Head, Neck and Spine Committee and partner with the NCAA will be the guest speaker for Wednesday, August 16. Dr. Guskiewicz is world famous for his work on concussions and football helmets. Dr. Gusciewicz became Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC on January 1, 2016. Tarheel Downtown @ Downtown Chapel Hill
