Carrboro nonprofit Eyes Ears Nose and Paws (EENP) has grown by leaps and bounds since it was founded in January 2008! Our birthday gathering on Saturday, March 2 will take a look back at what we’ve accomplished in the last five years and a look forward to where we’re going in the next five. Meet our dogs, clients, staff and volunteers, and support our programs by bidding in our silent auction. You could become part of our future, too – we’ll be raffling off an opportunity to name one of our next pups-in training. Immediately following our birthday celebration, we will have a graduation ceremony that celebrates the achievements of the dog teams and the dog’s trainers. EENP’s assistance dogs are raised and trained by volunteer homes called Puppy Parents. After a year and a half of hard work, Puppy Parents celebrate the achievement of their commitment by presenting their dogs’ leashes to the new handlers, finalizing the placement of the graduating Assistance Dog Team following an intensive two-week Client Training Seminar that Starts on February 18. The birthday celebration starts at 11am followed by the graduation ceremony at 12:30pm. For more information, visit the website www.eenp.org or call (919) 408-7292.
