Beach on the Plaza: The Magnificents @ Northgate Mall
Jun 30 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Northgate’s Music on the Plaza summer series ends with a blast Friday, June 30, when beach music favorite The Magnificents take the stage. The Ronald McDonald House volunteers will be on hand to kick off the Christmas in July fundraiser and collect pop tops and donated items from their wish list. Ronald McDonald and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance to interact with children along with face painters and a get-well card craft station.

There will be FREE shagging lessons at 6pm with the Carolina Shaggers. Chow down on mouth-watering favorites from Zeke’s Meats and OnlyBurger food trucks and Northgate’s Esmeralda’s Café, and grab a pint or a glass of wine from Bull City Burger and Brewery.
Music on the Plaza events are free live music events for the community. We hope you’ll enjoy good eats, live music, and a dancing good time with family and friends. Bring your own chairs, but leave your coolers and pets at home.

Honey Magpie Album Release Show @ Cat's Cradle Back Room
Jul 29 @ 7:30 pm

On July 29th, the Triangle-based indie-folk band Honey Magpie will have a release show for their self-titled, debut album at Cat’s Cradle Back Room in Carrboro, NC, at 7:30 pm.

Recorded with Jerry Brown at Chapel Hill’s Rubber Room Studio, the album includes ten original songs featuring lush cello, violin and vocal harmonies supported by banjo, keyboard, guitar and drums.

Honey Magpie is a four-piece band whose sound blends traditional folk and modern pop influences. Their lyrics revolve around ideas of home, nature and finding one’s place in the world.

Tickets for the show are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at the Cat’s Cradle website. Joining Honey Magpie onstage will be local folk artists Josh Moore, Brothers Egg and Magnolia Still.
