I have said it before but it bears repeating: Habitat for Humanity of Orange County’s High Heels and Hard Hats Fashion Show is one of the top five events of the year. And it’s coming up on Friday, April 21.
In other words: What are you waiting for? Get your tickets! This event sold out in 2016.
I will be emceeing for the third consecutive year, and this year I am thrilled to be joined by Zach Ward of DSI Comedy on stage.
What else has changed? This year, the event is at The Friday Center instead of University Place. Looks from more retailers will be featured on the runway – J.McLaughlin, Uniquities, Fine Feathers, Gentlemen’s Corner, Julian’s, Whilden and Puddle Baby Boutique.
And, of course, we have a new lineup of local models, including: Jean Elia, Linda Perry, Sharon Hill, Taylor Ludlam, Alessandra Ritter, Dana McMahan, Jean Neville, Al Bowers, Brian Chacos, Rep. Graig Meyer, Carl Fox, Freddie Kiger, Margaret Holmes, Valerie Steinbacher, Kevin Callaghan, Virginia Platto, Addie Scow and Creighton Blackwell.
The atmosphere before and after the show – with a reception starting at 6pm for VIPs, hors d’ouevres and drinks for everyone beginning at 7, a photo booth, a Kendra Scott jewelry auction, a home designer showcase with one-of-a-kind pieces from local interior designers, live music and a wine auction – will remain electric.
Between tickets and a live give portion of the show, more than $40,000 was raised last year. It costs about $75,000 to construct a Habitat home in Orange County.
Tickets are $75 or $90 for the VIP option.
The Tar Heel 10 Miler is the next day, but the great news is: You can carb load on the appetizers, and the evening ends fairly early (around 9:30pm). See you there!
