Weekend at a Glance: Bubbles, Books and Bites

Don’t miss a bite this weekend at the Farm to Fork Picnic at Fearrington Village.

John T. Edge Book Event – Thursday, 7pm – Listen as John T. Edge, author of The Potlikker Papers: A Food History of the Modern South, talks about his book, food and Southern history at Flyleaf Books. Tasty Southern snacks will also be provided.

Bubble-ology – Friday, 3:30-5:00pm – Sign up for this bubbly workshop at Kidzu Children’s Museum and learn how to measure out the perfect bubble solution, engineer your very own bubble wand and create slithery bubble snakes. Stick around for the end where kids can make refreshing bubble tea to take home!

The Triangle Jazz Orchestra – Friday, 6pm – Part of the Meadowmont Music Series, enjoy a free concert by this local band as they play swinging jazz music at Meadowmont Village Circle.

Carolina Moonlight Garden Party – Saturday, 6pm – Join the North Carolina Botanical Garden on this magical, moonlit night highlighting the gorgeous North Carolina coastline by dancing to The Legacy Motown Revue and eating delicious seafood under the stars.

Farm to Fork Picnic – Sunday, 4-7pm – Three dozen chefs, each paired with a local farm, produce seasonal bite-size dishes at the tenth annual event at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro. Samples from local artisans, breweries and wineries will also be featured, as well as music by Big Fat Gap and The Holland Brothers.
