Weekend at a Glance: Ghosts, Games and Giggles

Bye Bye Birdie – Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7:30pm; Sunday, 2pm – The PlayMakers Repertory Company Summer Youth Conservatory has been hard at work to present this kid-friendly musical comedy based on the book by Michael Stewart. Enjoy as a talented team of high-school students and PlayMakers’ own professional artists put on this high-energy show full of laughs.

Family Game Night – Friday, 6-8pm – Bring your family to Kidzu Children’s Museum and get competitive by playing supersized versions of your favorite games, mastering mini-golf or even creating your own game.

Music in the Meadow – Saturday, 6-9pm – Briar Chapel presents this summer concert series at Great Meadow Park where attendees can rock out to The Boomers while eating at various food trucks.

North Carolina Poetry Society Reading – Sunday, 2pm – North Carolina poets Ricky Garni, Tina Barr and Guiseppe Getto will be at McIntyre’s Books to read poetry from their own personal works.

Ghosts of the Eno – Sunday, 7pm – Love a good ghost story? Come out to Eno River State Park to discover an abandoned cemetery, learn about those that still haunt the park and even get a chance to tell your own story. Don’t forget to bring hiking shoes and bug spray!
