Artist Talk with Austin Cathey at FRANK Gallery– Thursday, 6-8pm – Come listen to an exclusive chat with this North Carolina based artists. The FRANK Emerging Artist Apprentice will provide insight on why artists create and share details on behind-the-scenes processes and materials.

Paperhand Puppet Intervention: “Of Wings and Feet” – Friday & Saturday, 7pm; Sunday, 3pm & 7pm – Check out this giant puppet spectacle in its final weekend at Forest Theatre. An evening of whimsy and enchantment awaits you in this display of masks, giant puppets, stilts and more! Tickets are only available at the door.  

Tar Heel Downtown – Friday, 6pm-9pm – Cheer on the Tar Heels before the first football game of the season. This family-friendly event will occur in Downtown Chapel Hill around The Plaza at 140 West Franklin StreetCANCELLED DUE TO THREAT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER

Movies on the Market: Spider-Man Homecoming – Saturday, 8:30pm — Unleash your inner superhero and head out to Southern Village to watch one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters. 

ProgDay International Progressive Music Festival – Saturday & Sunday – Be a part of the longest-running progressive music festival in the world. Storybook Farm will host the 23rd edition of the event featuring multiple artists from all over the globe.

  • Until Sunday, Steel String Brewery will donate 10% of sales to farmers affected by Hurricane Harvey.
  • This Friday, 9/1, Coco Bean Coffee Shop will donate 100% of proceeds to HurricaneHarvey relief fund.
  • elements will be donating 10% of sales from Friday, 9/1 and Saturday, 9/2 to the American Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief. The elements team says “We have some relatives down there who have been misplaced as well so it’s super personal for us.”
  • This Saturday, 9/2, Cameron’s will give 10% of sales to the RedCross for Hurricane Harvey relief. ______________________________________________________________
