“UNC saved my life and now I want to help other people who come to UNC for treatment, especially the kids.” BailaCura is a non-profit organization of dancers committed to supporting cancer patients and their families during treatment. “My parents have their son, and I want other parents to see their kids beat cancer too.”
After graduating from North Carolina State University, Matt was commissioned into the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg until a cancer diagnosis ended his military career. Along with the power and passion of dance, Matt credits his dramatic recovery to research and the treatment he received at UNC-Chapel Hill’s incredible healthcare system.
