Alamance Arts’ 29th annual Christmas at Captain White’s (November 19 –December 24) presents the handwork of over 125 regional, national and international artists and artisans.
Choose the perfect feather bow tie by Brackish Original Feather Bow Ties, handcrafted in Charleston, SC or “be a part of the art” with an original handbag by Rhode Island designer Kent Stetson who has made bags for collectors throughout the world. Look forward to Bittersweet Designs jewelry by Laurie Lenfestey of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Discover the Bulgarian potter Danko with Oakland Pottery or Juniper Tree Soaps from California, glycerin fragranced soaps embellished with herbs and flowers.
Hoping to find a locally made gift by a North Carolina painter, potter, woodworker or glass blower? Look no further than “Christmas at Captain White’s.” In addition to the talented artists of Alamance County, Alamance Arts represents numerous potters from the clay-rich Seagrove area and the mountains in and around Asheville. Nationally recognized glass artists working in the Penland/Toe River area of North Carolina have extraordinary works of art available for sale at Christmas at Captain White’s.
Displayed in the rooms and wide hallways of the historic 1870’s Captain White House, the the art works and decorations reflect a traditional North Carolina winter, complete with cardinals and snowmen.
