The aim of practicing zazen (simply sitting in Zen meditation) is the ending of suffering and the opening to joy and freedom, to life as it is. Practitioners of color are warmly invited to join the weekly People of Color Zazen Group, where we attend to our embodied experience and cultivate freedom in the present moment through the practice of zazen. Here, we create a sanctuary together where we may practice liberation from the specific sufferings we experience, and attend to the specific truths we know, as people of color living in a society still entrapped in the ignorance of racism. We sit silently together, practice kinhin (walking meditation), and then have the option to leave or to stay for group discussion and community building. New and experienced practitioners alike are warmly welcomed to join every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., on a regular or drop in basis. Please do not hesitate to contact Conal (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Kriti (email@example.com) with any questions you may have. For more information, see www.chzc.org. As always, the CHZC offers meditation instruction and orientation to newcomers on Sunday mornings at 9:00, and on Tuesday nights at 7:00. Please call ahead, if you can, if you would like to attend the instruction.
