In observance of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Orangetheory Fitness is splatting out cancer all day Saturday, Oct. 24 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund! The best part – you can help make a difference just by working out! For every splat point you earn in class, Orangetheory Fitness will donate one penny back to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund!
Splat points are how Orangetheory Fitness captures your awesome workout during classes based on the Orange and Red heart rate zones, which means the harder you workout, the more money we raise for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund! Everyone’s first Orangetheory Fitness workout is completely FREE, so if you’re not a member yet you can still come in to support this wonderful cause and get a great workout at the same time!
Orangetheory Fitness is a unique group workout broken into intervals of cardio and strength training. Participants in each hour-long class wear heart rate monitors while working out to keep heart rates in a target zone that ignites metabolism, increases energy, and accelerates weight loss. The result is the Orange Effect – more energy, visible toning and extra calorie burn for up to 36 hours post-workout. Members can burn up to 1,000 calories per class and lose up to eight pounds per week.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was officially founded on Dec. 3, 2007, from the vision of the organization’s namesake Kay Yow, former NC State University head women’s basketball coach. Coach Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 before succumbing to the disease on Jan. 24, 2009.
