Screening of “Staring Down Fate” with Producer and Panel @ Koury Auditorium, Kenan-Flagler Business School
Apr 19 @ 6:00 pm

Join the UNC Kenan-Flagler Center for Sustainable Enterprise, Net Impact and Center for Entrepreneurial Studies for Earth Week and this rare opportunity. On April 19th, from 6-8 pm, we will screen the award-winning documentary “Staring Down Fate” alongside producer of the film and founder of WildSides, Jeffrey Mittelstadt (UNC MBA ’07, UNC MA Journalism ’12).

Staring Down Fate is a documentary film about searching for purpose in life and in mortality, about finding inspiration in the face of uncertainty. It is a story about 7.4 billion people and our relationship with nature, told through one person’s life: Chris Lucash, a red wolf biologist diagnosed with ALS.

After the screening, from 8-9 pm, Tracy Triggs-Matthews, Director of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise, will moderate a panel of experts from the film to help us dive deeper into issues discussed. The panelist include:

Dr. Richard Bedlack, Director of the Duke ALS Clinic (Chris Lucash’s doctor)

Mark MacAllister, Vice Board Chair of the Red Wolf Coalition

Jeffrey Mittelstadt, Producer and Director of Staring Down Fate and Founder of WildSides

Heavy appetizers from Med Deli will be provided at the start of the event.

WildSides will accept donations at this event. WildSides is an award-winning documentary and educational nonprofit.
