Kay Yow Cancer Fund’s Inaugural Golf Celebration @ Lonnie Poole Golf Course

Join us as the Kay Yow Cancer Fund hosts its inaugural Golf Celebration at Lonnie Poole Golf Course, located just outside of downtown Raleigh. The event will honor the memory of legendary golf coach, Dot Gunnells, and raise money for ALL women’s cancers.

Time: 8:30 a.m. (Check-in), 10 a.m. (Shot-gun Start), Meal to follow

Wine Walk benefiting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund @ Waverly Place Shopping Center
Sep 29 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

WINE WALK! Receive a sampling glass and passport for a $10 donation to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Stroll the shops at Waverly Place and visit the participating retailers for wine samples and special promotions.

$300 in prizes: Visit at least 8 participating retailers at any of the spring wine walks, get your wine walk passport stamped and return it to a Kay Yow tent or Triangle Wine Co. the night of the wine walk to be entered to win (wine sampling is not required).

Enjoy a 20% discount from Triangle Wine Co. the night of the wine walk on select wines sampled during the event. A list of wines available at a discount will be posted at Triangle Wine Co.

2nd Annual Run 4 Peace @ Unity Center of Peace

Come connect with runners and families from around the Triangle to share an afternoon of racing and fun activities in the beauty of the Carolina North Forest. The race will take place on the “Pumpkin Loop.”

The event will include a timed 4K run and a 1-mile walk for families and kids. Prizes will be awarded for 1st place winners for men and women in each age category. Games and activities for children will take place throughout the morning. A food truck will be on hand providing delicious donuts, coffee, and tea. A portion of funds raised from this race will help support HomeStart, which provides 24-hour emergency and longer-term housing and services to homeless women and families in Orange County.

Advance registration, before October 5th: $25 for adults 20 and up, $20 for students 13-19 and $15 for children 12 and under. After October 5th through race day, $30, $25 and $20 respectively. Families and kids register for the 1-mile walk for free!

Fun and Fundraiser w/ Nomad Band @ Southern Village Green

Fun and Fundraiser for the UNC Children’s Cochlear Implant Center featuring the Nomads Band! Admission is FREE and event begins at 3PM on the Southern Village Green!

All are welcome to bring coolers, beach chairs, picnics, family and friends in support of the UNC Children’s Cochlear Implant Center. All funds raised support children who are deaf and hard of hearing in learning to listen and speak.

Donald Davis Storytelling @ The Fearrington Barn

We are thrilled that Donald Davis is returning to The Fearrington Barn on Saturday, December 16th at 11am and Sunday, December 17th at 2pm to delight us with his stories!

Renowned story teller Donald Davis is back! Donald has been visiting The Fearrington Barn to spin his tales for over 20 years and is one of the foremost storytellers in the country. He has been featured at the World’s Fair, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Storytelling Festival, and as guest host on NPR’s “Good Evening.”

In lieu of admission, donations of canned goods to CORA and gently used Children’s Books to Book Harvest will be accepted. This event fills up quick so get there early!
